The Meyers have been locals of Alsace since 1832. Almost two centuries on and five generations later, Felix Meyer is now in charge of the family winery, and has been since 1992.
These wines are considered some of the best value of their kind in France. The family owns holdings in some of the most sought-after vineyards of Alsace, having over 75% of their organic-farmed sites located on the prized sloped vineyards across seven communes in the region.
Felix uses traditional winemaking methods, fermenting wild in a mixture of stainless steel and large format oak and allowing the wines a long time on lees before release. The 'Reserve Riesling' comes from a selection of younger vines and a portion from some of their cru vineyards.
It's dry, precise and showcases excellent extension of flavour. It's some of the best buying you will see from this famed wine-growing region.
