Jean Francois Ganevat is an icon of the natural wine movement, crafting exquisite wines from his biodynamically-farmed estates in France's Jura region.
This gorgeous expression of minerally, elegant Chardonnay comes from a plot of old vines growing in the region's famous Jurassic limestone soils. The grapes are handpicked and treated with a gentle touch: fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged for two years in old 600-litre oak barrels without any additions, including sulphur!
Topped off to avoid oxidation (a.k.a. the "ouille" style of Jura white wine), and bottled without fining or filtration.
