The Thomas Synergy Shiraz is always a blend of sites from across the Hunter, a 'regional blend' if you will - and once again it is one of the bargain reds of the appellation.
The Synergy Shiraz combines grapes from Fordwich Hill and select barrels from Pokolbin Estate, Sweetwater Ridge, Cote D'or, and Black Cluster vineyards. Each parcel undergoes cold soaking, stainless steel fermentation, and 15 months of aging in French oak barrels before blending.
The style is open, ripe and generous Shiraz, with Thommo leaning to less oak these days, preserving all the lovely juicy fruit from an excellent vintage.
Hunter Shiraz 101 here and simply one of the best value Shiraz around.
