The Pittnauer Pitti Blend brings together Zweigelt, a grape created in 1922 in Austria, with its parent Blaufrankisch, and a dash of Merlot, in this rich and satisfying wine.
The Pitti is described by the Pittnauers as 'carefree, inviting, fresh and fruity, juicy and dynamic', and we can't help but agree. While it looks dark and brooding in colour, its fruit notes are vibrant and fresh, with blackberry, smoke and liquorice underscored by some nice tannin grip.
The combination of Zweigelt and Blaufrankisch give the wine its fruitiness and spice, with the Merlot giving it some palate weight. A lovely wine at a lovely price.
