Lethbridge's main man, Ray Nadeson, takes his Pinot Gris very seriously. Indeed, it would be hard to find a more 'worked' or 'crafted' Pinot Gris in this country.
His hand-picked fruit is meticulously basket pressed as whole bunches away from oxygen before being fermented with indigenous yeast in French oak barrels. It then sees extended time on lees in old barrels before being bottled without filtration.
The texture and phenolics here, abound. If you enjoy a more voluptuous and weighty style of Pinot Gris, then this is the wine for you, as Lethbridge exemplifies the style better than almost anyone. Enjoy!
