The 2024 Denton Shed Pinot Noir is everything you want from a Yarra Pinot at this price - bright, easy to drink, and quietly serious underneath.
Made from fruit grown on the granite soils of Denton’s View Hill vineyard, this year’s wine brings together the freshness of the lower Block 6 with some extra lift from the close-planted Block 4 up top.
The season wasn’t exactly a breeze. A soggy spring and early summer meant plenty of work in the vineyard, but things turned fast - February and March brought dry, warm days and cool nights, which helped the fruit ripen in a tight window and hold onto its natural acidity.
It’s a wine that walks the line between lightness and shape, made with 10% whole bunch, wild fermented, and matured in mostly old oak for nine months. Bottled without fining or filtering, it keeps the vibrancy of the fruit front and centre.
