As the saying goes, in wine, all roads lead to Burgundy. That's certainly the case for Michael Corbett. In 2023 he was lucky enough to get a hold of a very small parcel of Pommard, enough for just two barrels.
Known for his incredible work with Grenache in McLaren Vale, Michael has always had a deep love for Burgundy, and this wine marks the realisation of a long-held ambition to make Pinot Noir from this hallowed ground.
This is a Burgundy for the purists. Think fresh blackberry, redcurrant, and cherry, with subtle layers of earthy spice and silky tannins that hum in perfect balance. Aged for 10 months in French oak barrels and bottled unfined and unfiltered, it’s as honest and charming as Burgundy gets at this price.
With only 50 dozen produced, this is a wine that’s been years in the making and we are pleased to have access to a small allocation. A must-have for lovers of Pinot Noir and a beautiful addition to any collection.
