Pieter's journey with Blankbottle began in 2004 when he poured a Shiraz for a customer who claimed to dislike the varietal, only to have her buy three cases. This moment encapsulates the ethos of Blankbottle: wines judged by their taste, not labels. Orbitofrontal Cortex, named after the brain region responsible for conscious decisions, is crafted from the best barrel and tank selections, showcasing the winemaker's preferred flavors.
