Here's something you don't see from the Barossa every day!
The Spinifex Solana is a multi-vintage white wine aged under flor in old barrels for a minimum of four year before release.
Peter Schell, owner/purveyor of Spinifex, selects parcels of fruit from each vintage to essentially be barreled down for a solera process. It's been a long time in the making. The first fruit for this project was squirreled away during the 2005 harvest. What now sits in the bottle is unlike any white wine you are likely to have tried from the famous Barossa region.
It's a nutty, savoury, saline white golden wine with teriffic texture and extraordinary length.
A one of a kind from a one of a kind Barossa winemaker.
