  • Description

Dr. Mayer is Pinot Noir with a wilder streak - bold, structured, and driven by Timo’s signature whole-bunch fermentation.

In 2024, the warmer ripening season brought a little more fruit weight, but make no mistake - this is still a savoury, stalky, and structured Pinot.

Expect layers of dark cherry, cranberry, and spice, wrapped in fine, detailed tannins that stretch long across the palate. It's a great vintage of this wine, ready to drink but also perfect for the cellar.

Wildly aromatic, deeply expressive, and made in tiny quantities. If you like Pinot with tension and bite, step into the Doktor’s office.

"Estate grown, 100% whole bunches, matured in seasoned hogsheads. A bright, light garnet. A slightly riper version of this always perfumed and seductive wine. Lifted aromas of wild strawberry, rose bush bramble and green peppercorn spice precede the gently sinewy, savoury and very long palate. My advice: drink the Mayer Pinot now and over the next five years and then get stuck into this Dr Mayer Pinot.

"It’s ‘whoa!’ in the green herb, white pepper and mezcal characters! Strap in. Lighter weight, a sluice of red cherry, rose hip cherry, all of this tightly wound with those green herb and peppery notes, skinny in its jive and cinched with ultra fine, silty tannin lending a long, drying pucker post sips. Fragrant, frisky, needs some time to see it elevate, but even now has a slinky swagger that should drag pinotphiles in. Sleek, elegant, personality plus."
