The 10X Pinot Gris is a great example of Ten Minutes by Tractor’s meticulous attention to detail, even in its entry-level wines.
Sourced from the Osborne and Hunts Road vineyards in the northern part of the Mornington Peninsula, this wine benefits from warmer growing conditions, which bring out riper fruit characteristics while still retaining the bright acidity that’s key to their style.
On the nose, there’s a delightful burst of pear and guava, with subtle undertones of ginger and clove adding intrigue. The palate is textured and driven, with a chalky minerality that keeps the wine fresh and focused.
The winemaking team chose to ferment this Pinot Gris in a mix of older barriques and concrete, which allows the wine to develop complexity without being dominated by oak. Some barrels were stirred to build texture, while others were left to express their juicy, primary fruit. Great value and excellent mid-week drinking.
