Coriole has been growing Montepulciano since 2001, drawn to its deep colour, bold fruit, and natural savoury edge. A late-ripening variety, it’s often the last picked, with fruit coming from both their home block on terra rossa soils - adding structure - and their warmer Willunga vineyard, which brings richness and generosity.
The 2023 release is dark, juicy, and full of flavour. Plum and mulberry lead the way, backed by a touch of spice, dried herbs, and dark chocolate. It’s plush and generous but held together by bright acidity and firm tannins, giving it just the right amount of grip.
A natural match for anything hearty - slow-cooked meats, rich pasta, or even just a wedge of good cheese - it’s a proper, no-fuss McLaren Vale red that ticks all the right boxes.
