Benjamin Leroux's village level wines, particularly in the reds, are outstanding, with the Savigny-les-Beaune representing possibly the best value among them.
It shows power and sophistication not far off many 1er reds in the region, this release showing a particularly linear palate with a floral, musky nose, pure red fruit crunch and some light herbal notes from some well-managed whole bunch.
This offers gorgeous drinking now and will cellar beautifully for the next decade or more.

“This one has lots of umami extract, ripe raspberries and some black fruit, iodine staining the palate, graphite tannin, sage and juniper berries a la bitter/spicy herb. Serious flavour.”
