Clos Mogador’s Nelin is not just a white wine - it’s a deep dive into the soul of Priorat, a region better known for its commanding reds. When René Barbier created Nelin in 2001, he set out to challenge expectations, crafting a white with the same intensity, complexity, and age-worthiness as his legendary reds.
The 2021 vintage is a blend of Garnacha Blanca, Macabeo, Xarel·lo, Picapoll, and Cariñena Blanca, the latter two varieties playing a bigger role as the vineyard evolves. Fermented from direct-pressed juice, it spent a year in oak and another six months in tank, adding layers of texture and structure while keeping its vibrant Mediterranean freshness intact. The result is a wine that feels both powerful and weightless - a rare combination that defines the best of Priorat.
Nelin is built to age, evolving in the bottle just as the land it comes from has evolved over centuries. It’s a wine that asks for patience but rewards in kind, offering something new with every passing year.

"Notes of hay and straw, aromatic herbs, and waxy apples dominate the nose. The palate is voluminous and dense, yet retains freshness from the cooler vintage. Approachable now, but with great potential for increased complexity over time in bottle."
